"It began as a school of arts and crafts and became the apostolic administrative center, to which the Salesian communities of the evangelizing works, opened in the period 1892-1922, were directly or indirectly linked. The first Salesians attended the Colegio de Santa Julia with two sections: students and artisans. The former received the teachings of higher elementary and commercial instruction; the latter, knowledge, of the trades of printing, bookbinding, carpentry, blacksmithing, mechanics, tailoring and shoemaking." "Nuestro Colegio forma parte de la historia primigenia de los salesianos en México. Inició como escuela de artes y oficios y se constituyó en el centro administrativo apostólico, al que directa o indirectamente estuvieron vinculadas las comunidades salesianas de las obras evangelizadoras, abiertas en el período de 1892-1922. Los primeros salesianos atendían el Colegio de Santa Julia con dos secciones: alumnos y artesanos. Los primeros recibían las enseñanzas propias de la instrucción elemental superior y comercial; los segundos, conocimientos, de los oficios de imprenta, encuadernación, carpintería, herrería, mecánica, sastrería y zapatería.
