This is a designer who is referenced a couple of times in "American Printer" magazine, but only as "Miss D. Fletcher". It is likely she is actually the designer who was using the monogram that has previously been attributed to Florence Pearl England Nosworthy in other literature about book cover designers.
She was listed in both the 1898 and 1900 "American Art Annual" (American Art Directory) lists of 'Workers in the Applied Arts', under the name "D. Fletcher", where she was described as "designer" regarding her art specialty. In those directories her address was listed as 200 W. 111th Street, NYC.
The 1900 census lists a "Daisy Fletcher" as living at that address, with other members of her family. There are no other Fletchers with a first name that starts with "D" listed for that address, either. Her birthday is listed as 1860 in the 1900 census, making her 40 years old in 1900.
She died in 1906 and was buried in Westchester, Connecticut.
