Description

Primarily a bookbinder, Peter Verburg apprenticed under bookbinder Ellen Starr Gates at the Hull House bindery in Chicago.

For the Boston publisher L.C. Page, he provided at least one book cover, and a set of decorations that were reused in a set of titles by the author Nathan Gallizier.

He later went on to become the directory of the bindery at the Merrymount Press, working for D.B. Updike. See all items with this value

Verburg was misidentified as "Paul Verberg" in the March 1903 edition of "The Craftsman", in an article about an exhibition held by the Society of Arts and Crafts of Minneapolis.

Verburg's name has also been misspelled by publishers and in the trade magazines as "Verberg".
