Robert Weir Crouch was a Canadian artist who also did fore-edge paintings. He also designed the famous 'oak leaf' border used on the cover of National Geographic Magazine.
Robert Weir Crouch was born at Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, England, on 14 March 1865, and immigrated to Canada with his older brother Thomas, arriving at the port of Halifax on 13 May 1884, aboard the Sarmatian.
