TFW a book you just finished a particularly annoying conservation treatment on turns out to have been withdrawn (almost certainly years ago) because it was declared “lost” after being down in the lab for so long. This book has been in the lab at least since before I started working here 2 years ago. Fortunately for me, the library doesn’t actually want to get rid of it, but now it has to be re-cataloged.
Ah, the perils of working with non-special-collections items.
