This week in the conservation lab, we did a full inventory of all of our tools and equipment. We use a lot of different tools in the lab!
At the front of the table, there are various utility knives, scalpels, and four different types of bonefolders (bone, wood, plastic, and teflon). Because of the wide variety of books and other items we treat in the lab, it helps to have a similarly wide variety of tools at hand. Some of the tools, like our bonefolders and knives, are used daily, while others, like our two pairs of band nippers, are used rarely.
