Our order of custom-cut boxes from Talas arrived, and I spent the morning assembling them and figuring out which book fit into each box! The boxes arrived flat, so I had to fold them into shape first before they could be filled with a book.
It was a little bit like a puzzle…and fun because I didn’t have to make all the boxes myself! Yipee!
If you’ve ever assembled an archival box before, putting these boxes together was pretty self-explanatory. You just fold along the scored lines, tuck in the flaps, fold over the other flap…and voila!
Now your books are protected from dust, light, and abrasion from their neighbors! A lot of our artists books have some creatively textured exteriors, so its important that we preserve their bindings by housing them like this.
